Ferrari Portofino, a jewel of elegance and sportiness

Class is not water, and it is with this Concept Line that Ferrari presents the new Ferrari Portofino in September 2017, on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the birth of the company's first car (the 125 s).

Under the project name F164, and under the care of the Ferrari Style Center coordinated by Flavio Manzoni, the Ferrari Portofino enters the automotive market replacing the Ferrari California T.

Presented in two versions: Coupè and Cabriolèt, it is presented as the everyday car, like its progenitor.

Style and elegance are not the only elements that dominate, in fact this car is very comfortable, while maintaining the sporting DNA typical of any other Ferrari model.

The Portofino has a height of almost 132 cm, and despite being just under five meters long, it has an elongated hood and a compact and slender tail, which gives it a natural reminder of California.

As for the sides, there are very fluid lines, which invite the eye to slide towards the rear, capturing every single detail at the same time.

The interiors are in pure Ferrari style, with very fine finishes in fine leather, and with an eye towards HI-Tech, given the presence of two displays in the dashboard of 10 inches each, divided by a rev counter placed centrally and from a larger display located in the dashboard.

The seats have an aluminum alloy core to reduce weight, and are finished in genuine leather; they also hug the driver very well, giving a unique feeling.

As for driving, the Portofino is truly electrifying, with improvements given by a balanced suspension calibration, greater steering and engine readiness, the electronically controlled E-Diff3 differential and lower overall mass.

The beating heart of this Ferrari is a 3.9 V8 Turbo, combined with a dual-clutch F1 robotised gearbox, capable of delivering a total of 600 hp at 7500 rpm (corresponding to 156 hp/liter), thanks to a new design for as regards connecting rods, pistons, intake ducts, and the entire exhaust system, integrating a valve that manages the sound at start-up, adjusting it according to the driving mode chosen. In addition, there is a detonation analysis sensor for each cylinder, optimizing delivery.

The maximum torque delivered is 760 Nm for the third to seventh gears. It is equipped with software that adapts the torque curve according to the gear engaged, called Variable Boost Management.

A car studied in detail, with aerodynamic efficiency increased by thirty percent, a weight of only 1.545 kg, and a rear windbreak that makes outdoor driving pleasant by reducing vortexes in the passenger compartment, make this model a real jewel of comfort and sportiness, without compromising on both sides. The price starts from 195.991 Euros.
